Welcome to NEXA: your virtual instructor

What NEXA is, what it can and cannot do, and how to get the most from each study session.

What NEXA is

NEXA is the NXT Education Experience Assistant โ€” a virtual instructor for NXT Level Learning healthcare students. You can ask questions by text or, in an upcoming release, by voice, in English or Spanish.

NEXA answers from approved NXT Level Learning course material and shows you where each answer comes from, so you can always check the source yourself.

What NEXA is not

NEXA is not a replacement for your licensed instructors, and it is not a medical advisor. It will not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or promise you will pass an exam.

When NEXA is not confident an answer matches your approved course material, it says so and flags the question for your instructor instead of guessing.

One important rule: no patient information

Never type or say real patient information to NEXA โ€” no names, room numbers, conditions, or anything that could identify a person in your care. Use generic examples instead, like โ€œa resident who uses a walker.โ€

This protects patients, protects you, and is a condition of using NEXA.

How a study session works

Sign in, pick a mode โ€” Ask NEXA for quick questions, Tutor Mode to learn a topic step by step, Quiz Mode to test yourself, or Skills Practice to rehearse procedures out loud.

NEXA remembers your progress between sessions: what you have covered, where you are strong, and what needs more work. You can review everything it remembers about you on your memory page, in plain language.

Check your understanding

1. What should you do if you want NEXA's help with a situation involving a real resident?
2. NEXA is unsure whether its answer matches your approved course material. What happens?
3. Which of these can NEXA do for you?
